We’re happy to have you as an Eagle! Please be sure to take care of the following as soon as possible. Completing everything listed below will make your transition into college much smoother.
Please note that not all items may pertain to your situation.
Apply Early for Housing to receive the best options! Please note there is a mandatory live-on campus requirement for all incoming freshmen. After two to three days of your acceptance, you will be able to log into the Housing Application using your Eagle ID and date of birth. You will need to pay a $100 non-refundable application fee at the time of completing the application.
SOAR is a mandatory orientation program for all new students. You will attend information sessions and register for classes. Visit the SOAR website to sign up and to get more information, including what to bring, what to expect, where to stay, etc.
If you need financial aid or would like to be considered for the HOPE scholarship (Georgia students only), you will need to complete the FAFSA.
Print the Certificate of Immunization and have your health care provider fill out your immunization history. Please fax or mail the forms back to the Health Services office. Students who fail to turn in their immunization forms will be restricted from registering for classes during SOAR unless they sign a waiver stating their intent to fulfill this requirement.
If you are in high school, request that your guidance counselor send us your final high school transcript. This will include all of your classes and grades from all four years of high school and will not be available until after you graduate. Please make sure it includes your graduation date as well.
After you sign up for SOAR and register for classes, your tuition and fees will be tallied by the Office of Student Fees. The bill will vary in amount, but will be based on the following:
Additional expenses not billed by Georgia Southern include: EAGLEXPRESS, food, gas, off-campus rent, utilities, etc.
The bill can be accessed online and is due by the first day of classes. Anyone who fails to pay their tuition and fees by this time will have their classes cancelled.
