Scheduling Your Visit

We offer campus visits Monday through Friday at 10:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.

  • If you have trouble making your online reservation, call us at 912.478.5851 or email us at visit@georgiasouthern.edu.
  • Please schedule your visit at least three or more business days prior to your desired visit date.
  • If you require special assistance, such as handicap accessibility, please contact our office at least 3 days prior to your visit. We are happy to provide accommodations to make your visit more enjoyable.
  • Tours can be given in Spanish upon request. A minimum of two weeks notice is required. Please contact the Office of Admissions for more information.
Residence Hall Tour

At this time, our walking tour of campus does not include a stop to see the inside of a residence hall and sample room. However, University Housing offers a special tour of Eagle Village, one of our apartment-style residence halls, Monday through Friday from 12:00-2:00 p.m.


10:30 A.M. Campus Tour Guests

Guests attending the 10:30 a.m. campus tour: The Office of Admissions will provide you with driving directions to Eagle Village once your visit with admissions has ended.


2:30 P.M. Campus Tour Guests

Guests attending the 2:30 p.m. campus tour are strongly encouraged to stop by Lewis Hall (Office of Admissions) by 1:00 p.m. in order to have ample time to receive driving directions to Eagle Village and complete the tour of the residence hall prior to the start of your visit with admissions.


About Eagle Village

Eagle Village combines private bedrooms with many opportunities for community development through shared lounges, floor kitchens, and the four-unit apartment cluster. The apartment cluster gives students the opportunity to easily be able to meet and connect with other students in the residence hall. A shared clubhouse provides students with a computer lab, classrooms, and programming space for social and educational events sponsored by the residence hall staff. Transfer Fridays

These visits are geared toward students looking to transfer to Georgia Southern from another college or university.

Transfer Fridays are offered on the Statesboro Campus on select Fridays throughout the year from noon-2 p.m. Your visit begins at Lewis Hall, home of the Office of Admissions, where you will meet with a member of our transfer recruitment team for an informative presentation about the university and the admissions process. Afterward, one of our Southern Ambassadors will lead you on a walking tour of our beautiful campus, followed by an opportunity to meet one-on-one with an Admissions Counselor, apply for admission, or complete your next steps. Transfer Fridays are different from SOAR (orientation). You will not meet with an advisor to discuss class placement, credit, or selection during these visits. Transfer students are welcome to register for a daily campus tour but please note the presentation is focused on freshmen. Pre-registration is requested.

Engineering Lab Tours

Are you interested in exploring a major in Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering? The Office of Admissions has partnered with the College of Engineering and Information Technology (CEIT) to offer tours of our Engineering laboratories. Tours are held on Fridays from 1:30-2:30 p.m., and depart outside Room 2121 in the Engineering BuildingReservations are required for tours of our Engineering laboratories. Communication Arts Visit

Are you interested in exploring a major in Communication Arts? The Office of Admissions has partnered with the Department of Communication Arts to provide prospective students with the opportunity to shadow a current Georgia Southern Communication Arts student.

As part of your visit, you will have the opportunity to sit in on one to two classes and have one-on-one time to ask current students questions about their programs of study, campus life, and more! You can also tour Sanford Hall and, if you choose, the Center for Art and Theatre. Parents are invited to tour campus or the community on their own during this student-focused visit. How far in advance should I schedule my visit?

In order for us to best prepare for your arrival, it is strongly encouraged that you schedule your visit at least 3 or more business days prior to your desired visit date. How do I cancel, reschedule, or modify my visit registration?

You can cancel, reschedule, or modify your visit registration in one of two ways:

  • Call the Office of Admissions at 912.478.5851
  • Email the Office of Admissions at visit@georgiasouthern.edu. Be sure to include your full name, original reservation date and time, and desired reschedule date and time (if applicable)

Do you offer weekend visits?

No. At this time, we do not currently offer weekend visits, with the exception of our Open House and Discover Southern events. Click here for more information.

Do you offer holiday visits?

No. At this time, we do not currently offer visits when the University is closed for holiday breaks.

Do you offer group visits?

Yes. We welcome groups of high school-aged students (14-18), and can accommodate up to 60 students at our group tour times of 11:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. It is strongly recommended that you book your visit at least 2 weeks in advance to ensure date and time availability, and to allow us time to best prepare for your visit. Do you offer visits specifically for transfer students?

Yes. We offer Transfer Friday visits specifically for transfer students every other Friday at 12:30 p.m. These visits are geared toward students looking to transfer to Georgia Southern University from another college or university. Click here for more information and to schedule your campus visit.

When should I expect to receive a confirmation for my visit?

You should receive a confirmation email for your visit almost immediately after submitting the registration form. The confirmation email will be sent to the email address that you list on your registration form. Please ensure that you have entered this address correctly prior to submitting your form.

What should I do if I do not receive a confirmation email?

Please contact the Office of Admissions at 912.478.5851 to verify that (1) your registration has been received and processed, and (2) the confirmation email was sent to the correct email address. Confirmation emails will be re-sent to the email address listed on the registration form, or updated email address, as needed.

Where should I stay if I am traveling from out of town? 

There are a number of hotels located within a short drive of campus. For a complete listing of hotels in the area, or for more information about the City of Statesboro and the surrounding area, please visit the Statesboro Visitor Bureau or call 912.489.1869.

What should I wear?

Because your campus visit will include a one hour walking tour, we strongly encourage you to wear comfortable walking shoes and to dress appropriately for the forecasted weather. During the summer months, Statesboro can be quite warm and humid. No matter the weather, the Office of Admissions will provide you with a bottled water prior to your tour departure.

Where should I park?

Free visitor parking is available in front of Lewis Hall (Office of Admissions) on Sweetheart Circle. If you have trouble finding a parking spot, additional parking spots may be available in the parking lot behind Lewis Hall. After parking, make your way inside Lewis Hall, where one of our staff members will give you a parking pass to place on your dashboard. This parking pass will be valid for your entire day on campus.

When should I check in for my visit?

It is recommended that you arrive at least 10 minutes prior to the start of your campus visit. This will give you ample time to check in for your visit and prepare for your information session to begin.

Where do I check in for my visit?

All campus visits begin at Lewis Hall (Office of Admissions). Our address is: 1332 Southern Drive, Statesboro, GA 30460. Click here for driving directions to our building.

How long will my visit last?

Your visit will last approximately two hours. This time is broken up as follows:

  • Information session with admissions representative: 15-20 minutes
  • Campus walking tour with Southern Ambassador: 1 hour
  • Wrap-up session with admissions representative: 10-15 minutes

Am I able to meet with an admissions counselor during my visit?

Yes. While you will hear from one of our counselors during your information session, you may also make an appointment to sit down one-on-one with them at the end of your visit. Please call the Office of Admissions at 912.478.5851 to schedule your appointment.

Do you offer tours in Spanish?

Yes. Tours can be given in Spanish upon request. A minimum of two weeks notice is required. Please contact the Office of Admissions for more information.

Will I be able to visit a residence hall on the tour?

Unfortunately, we do not have a residence hall on our tour route that features a model room to be shown. However, University Housing offers tours of Eagle Village, an apartment-style residence hall on campus, from 12:00-2:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Eagle Village is located at 410 Georgia Ave., Statesboro, GA 30458. Visit the University Housing website to learn more about Eagle Village and all of our other residential communities on campus.

Will I be able to go inside the Recreation Activity Center on the tour?

Unfortunately, the Recreation Activity Center (RAC) is not shown on the campus tour, as it is not located in the central part of campus. However, you are welcome to visit the RAC during their normal business hours. The RAC is located at 2687 Akins Blvd., Statesboro, GA 30458. Stop by the information desk in the lobby of the RAC to request a personal tour of the facility given by a campus recreation staff member. Visit the Recreation Activity Center website to learn more about this world-class facility and view hours of operation for the 2017-18 academic year.

Can I eat on campus during my visit?

Yes. The Office of Admissions has partnered with Eagle Dining Services to offer discounted passes ($8.75/person) for lunch at our Dining Commons on the day of your campus visit.

  • 10:30 a.m. Campus Visit Guests: Please see the front staff in the admissions office after your campus tour for a discounted lunch pass.
  • 2:30 p.m. Campus Visit Guests: Please feel free to arrive to campus early to enjoy lunch. Please see the front staff in the admissions office when you arrive on campus to pick up a discounted lunch pass.

Are school excuses available?

Yes. We will be happy to provide you with an official school excuse after your official campus visit with admissions has ended. We will only provide an excuse for the day that you visited Georgia Southern University.
