Eagle Preview – Open House

Prospective and admitted students are invited to join the Office of Admissions for our open house events. As our most comprehensive event, Eagle Preview gives students the opportunity to talk one-on-one with representatives from all of our academic colleges and student services departments and the Office of Admissions. Numerous break-out sessions are offered on a wide variety of topics including Admissions, Housing, Financial Aid, Leadership and Community Engagement, and more! Tours of our residence halls, fitness center, and campus are also offered as part of the event.

Information Nights

Join the Office of Admissions for an Information Night to learn more about the Georgia Southern University Statesboro Campus. During these short information sessions, Office of Admissions staff and leadership will answer your questions about Georgia Southern University. Please join us to learn more about the opportunities available to students in the Statesboro area! All information sessions will take place in Lewis Hall at 6 p.m.

Transfer Visit Day

Learn more about becoming part of the #EagleNation at Georgia Southern!

Prospective and admitted transfer students are invited to join the Office of Admissions for Transfer Visit Day. This event provides students and their guests with transfer-specific information in areas such as admissions, financial aid, housing, and student life on campus. Students will have the opportunity to meet with academic colleges to learn more about their intended major and the advisement process, take a campus tour with one of our Southern Ambassadors, and hear from a panel of current transfer students about their experiences at Georgia Southern.

Transfer Visit Day check-in opens at 12:00 p.m. for those guests who wish to take a campus tour or visit with academic reps, prior to the Welcome Session starting at 1:00 p.m. Campus tours, housing tours, and Recreation Activity Center tours are also offered once the event concludes at 3:00 p.m. All guests must arrive and check-in by 1:00 p.m. to be seated for the Welcome Session.

Online Information Sessions

If you can’t make it to campus, we offer monthly live virtual events. Register for an upcoming event here! After you register, we will email you a link to log into the event.

Dual Enrollment Information Sessions

The Dual Enrollment Program allows high-achieving, self-directed high school students to challenge themselves through college coursework. Students can take a single course or enroll full-time, and some students graduate high school having earned as much as two years’ worth of college credits. More than 200 students from over 25 high schools in the state of Georgia participate in Dual Enrollment each semester at Georgia Southern University.

Dual Enrollment Information Sessions are held during the fall and spring semesters each year on all three campuses, and allow students interested in the program to learn more about the programs admission requirements and the application process. Students also have the chance to speak one-on-one with Georgia Southern’s Dual Enrollment representatives from the Office of Admissions and the First-Year Experience office.

Dual Enrollment: Virtual Staying at Southern Session

Students that are currently dual enrolled at Georgia Southern and plan to continue as freshmen are invited to the Virtual Staying at Southern Information Session! Join us for a presentation from the Office of Admissions and the Office of First Year Experience to learn more about the transition from dual enrollment to full-time freshman at Georgia Southern. Financial Aid representatives and the Major and Career Exploration Center will also be available.

Honors College Events

The Honors College hosts a variety of Honors Information Sessions throughout the year in Statesboro,
Savannah, and virtually. These events allow prospective students and their families to learn more about
the opportunities provided by the Honors College including the full-tuition 1906 Scholarship.

When is the deadline to register for the event?
The deadline to register for each Eagle Preview is the Friday before each event at 4:00 p.m.

How do I register for the event?

Please visit the event-specific pages for more information and to register. You can also register for an event by searching our Event Calendar, selecting the event you would like to attend, and clicking the “Register” button on the event’s information page. You will receive an automatic confirmation email upon registering for an event, and a reminder email prior to the event. 

How do I cancel, reschedule, or modify my registration for the event?

Can I register a group of students for the event?

Yes. School, community, and other groups are welcome to register students for an admissions special event. To register your students for the event, please call the Office of Admissions at 912.478.5851 or email us at visit@georgiasouthern.edu.

Are registrations capped for the event?
No. At this time, we do not cap registrations for Eagle Preview. All interested students, their family members, and friends are welcome to attend.

Is there a cost to attend the event?
No. Eagle Preview is a free event for all interested students, their family members, and friends.

What are the benefits of attending Eagle Preview?
Eagle Preview is a great way to experience all that Georgia Southern has to offer. You’ll get the information you need about our academic programs, student life, and admission requirements. You can take a campus tour, check out residence halls, and choose from several academic buildings to visit throughout campus. There are also opportunities to talk with professors about our 120+ degree programs.


Frequently Asked Questions | General Event Questions

When should I expect to receive a confirmation email for an event?

You should receive a confirmation email from the Office of Admissions within five minutes of registering for an event. The email will be sent to the student’s email address, as entered on the event registration form.

What should I do if I do not receive a confirmation email for an event?

If you do not receive a confirmation from the Office of Admissions within five minutes of registering for an event, please give our office a call at 912.478.5851, or email us at visit@georgiasouthern.edu.

Where should I stay if I am traveling from out of town?
There are a number of hotels located within a short drive of campus. For a complete listing of hotels in the area, or for more information about the City of Statesboro and the surrounding area, please visit the Statesboro Visitor Bureau, or call 912.489.1869.

What should I wear?
We strongly encourage you to wear comfortable walking shoes and to dress appropriately for the forecasted weather. There are both indoor and outdoor components to our events, so you may wish to bring a light jacket or sweater to wear indoors, should the air conditioning be on high. No matter the weather, the Office of Admissions will set up water bottle stations for guests at specified times throughout each event.
