All transfer students are required to attend a SOAR session prior to enrolling in classes for the summer term. SOAR sessions are led by current Georgia Southern students who will be a great resource for you to ask questions of and to show you what it means to be a Georgia Southern student!
You will also be able to sit down with your academic advisor, who will advise you on which classes to take during your first semester. You will then be able to register for classes and leave SOAR with a class schedule! We encourage you to prepare for advisement prior to SOAR.
SOAR Session Dates for Students Entering in Summer 2017
Term A & Term B: Saturday, May 13 – Please notice only one SOAR session will be offered for students beginning class in the summer term. SOAR begins at 8:00am and ends at approximately 5:00pm and occurs in the Nessmith Lane Conference Room.
To make a reservation*, please visit our online reservation system. If you would like to reserve your SOAR date with cash, check, or money order, please contact our office.
*Students who have not registered for SOAR by 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 12th will be processed as a walk-in at SOAR. These students will be subject to a penalty charge of $25, in addition to the $45 SOAR fee, to be paid at time of SOAR check-in.
Student Fee: $45.00
Includes: Orientation Program Guide, The Blue & White Student Guidebook, SOAR t-shirt, lunch in a dining facility, and trained staff to answer your questions.
Family/Guest Fee: $25.00 first guest, $10.00 for each additional guest.
