2009 Out-of-State Fee Waiver Deadline is February 01, 2009
The out-of-state fee waiver allows selected students who live outside of Georgia to attend Georgia Southern without paying an additional out-of-state fee. Such fees, common nationwide, are charged because students who live in another state haven’t supported a public institution with tax money. Georgia, though, recognizes the value of inviting good students to study and earn degrees here, regardless of where they live, and has authorized Georgia Southern to offer a limited number of out-of-state fee waivers, which are renewable for eight semesters if a student maintains a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.2 while a student at Georgia Southern.

Eligibility is based upon the following criteria:
Freshmen Students
Minimum 1200 SAT or 27 ACT (composite)
High School Academic GPA 3.2+
Admission to Georgia Southern University
Transfer Students
Minimum College GPA 3.5+
Admission to Georgia Southern University
