Southern Ambassadors

Southern Ambassadors is a group of diverse and enthusiastic students who proudly represent Georgia Southern University to the public, both on and off campus. Southern Ambassadors serve as the face of the university to prospective students and guests. They represent the university in a variety of settings, including:

  • Campus tours for prospective students and guests
  • Special recruiting events
  • Assistance with various Alumni programs
  • High school college day programs and receptions

Students will benefit in many ways – both personally and professionally – during their time as an ambassador. This includes:

  • Learning more about Georgia Southern University
  • Networking with student leaders and professionals from across campus
  • Attending team meetings that focus on professional development and training
  • Working in a team environment with a diverse group of individuals
  • Gaining experience in recruitment, college counseling, marketing, and public speaking
  • Gaining valuable presentation and critical thinking skills

All current Georgia Southern students who are in good academic standing with the University are eligible to apply to become a Southern Ambassador on their campus. 

New Member Recruitment
New member recruitment takes place at the start of the spring semester each year. All students interested in becoming a Southern Ambassador on the Statesboro Campus must submit a new member application and letter of recommendation form to be considered for membership. Following application and letter of recommendation form review, candidates are invited to participate in a group interview, followed by a mock tour (*by invite only). Students selected to become Southern Ambassadors will begin their training during the spring semester, and be expected to start giving campus tours at the start of the fall semester.

  • Applications for the 2018-19 Southern Ambassadors team on the Statesboro Campus have closed. Check back late fall for more information about new member recruitment for the 2019-20 Southern Ambassadors team.
