First-year students applying to Georgia Southern University for the summer and fall 2020 semesters can be admitted without an ACT or SAT score, if they have a sufficiently high GPA.
This is yet another way Georgia Southern is adapting to the COVID-19 pandemic, which has prompted the College Board and ACT to suspend all upcoming ACT and SAT testing dates.
The University System of Georgia authorized this change. Prospective first-year students must meet all other admission requirements, including satisfactory completion of the Required High School Curriculum and all other requested documentation. International Applicants who are Non-Native English Speakers must submit Proof of English Proficiency. They may submit SAT, ACT, IELTS, TOEFL (Including Home Edition), and Duolingo English Test. For more details see International Student Requirements
Georgia Southern enrollment counselors remain available to assist applicants and prospective students via phone or email.
04/02/2020: In light of the University System of Georgia’s decision to continue remote instruction for the summer term, all SOAR orientation sessions for new summer and fall students will be moved to a virtual format. Our staff is working quickly to plan an engaging and educational orientation experience for you. Please look for emails and website updates in the coming weeks with additional information.
