SOAR Leader Recruitment

The SOAR (Southern’s Orientation, Advisement, and Registration) Team is a group of students who work together to welcome all new students to Georgia Southern University. They assist in the development, planning, and implementation of the orientation and transition programs for more than 5,000 students and their family members on the Statesboro Campus and more than 1,000 students and their family members on the Armstrong Campus!

How to Apply

Apply through the Student Employment website. By filtering to part-time, you will be able to locate the job description easier. 

  • Job ID for the Armstrong Campus: TBD
  • Job ID for the Statesboro Campus: TBD

In order to be considered for an interview, you must:

  1. Have completed at least one semester at Georgia Southern University prior to January 2023.
  2. Maintain a minimum 2.5 institutional GPA.
  3. Submit a fully complete application on the Student Employment website. Please note that you will be required to upload a resume.

All tabling dates have passed. Please contact our office if you have any questions, and we would be happy to assist!

Attend an Information Session

All information sessions have passed; however, we do have a recorded info session from last year available for you to watch (approximately 10 minutes). Dates for 2023 info sessions will be posted as they become available.

Mandatory for SOAR Leader Events

SOAR Kick-Off: Early March 2023 (TBD)

SOAR Team Meetings/Spring Training: 2-3 hours per week starting mid-March 2023

Camp SOAR: Overnight TBD in mid-April 2023

SOAR Intensive Training: Two weeks from mid to late May 2023

SOAR Sessions: SOAR leaders are required to be present at all campus specific in-person sessions and virtual sessions. Sessions run from late May to early August. Session dates will be posted once available.
