Why did you choose Georgia Southern?

I chose Georgia Southern University due to granting me opportunities I wouldn’t have been able to obtain at another institution. Becoming an executive member in many organizations on our campus, volunteering in the Savannah area, mentoring my peers, and advocating for students is a short list of the many opportunities. I have supportive faculty and mentors that challenge me in every aspect possible. I have grown on both a professional and personal level. I couldn’t be more grateful for each individual I have developed a connection with at Georgia Southern University.

What is your favorite place on campus and why?

My favorite place on campus is the Student Union. This location is a gateway to meeting students and participating in a range of events. I have attended academic workshops, Latino Heritage Month events, social activities, and many others all in this one building.

As a new student, what was your favorite part of SOAR?

As an incoming freshman, I went through Armstrong Navigate as my orientation program. Although being able to become a SOAR Leader has given me the chance to experience the SOAR Program. My favorite part is the Who Will You Be presentation. It promotes diversity and inclusion within our campus. As incoming students, we should value each others journey and be open-minded to a new experience.

What is one piece of advice you would give to incoming students?

One piece of advice I would give to an incoming student is to never give up regardless of the obstacle. There will be days when you are feeling down due to obstacles trickling in your journey. Although always keep your head up high and remember your why.

What is your favorite memory or experience at Georgia Southern thus far?

My favorite memory experience at Georgia Southern thus far is having the opportunity to start an organization of my own. I wanted a method to connect with my Latin culture and creating the First Collegiate Chapter of a National Organization has granted me the opportunity. I work with an outstanding group of empowering women who teach me on a daily basis the true definition of dedication.

Fun Fact:

I was born in Mexico D.F., Mexico!
