Spring SOAR Service Project
Each year, the SOAR Team travels to the Southern Regional Orientation Workshop (SROW) which will be held at Clemson University in Clemson, SC, this March. In addition to attending educational sessions and networking events, the SOAR Leaders collect supplies to donate to each year’s conference-sponsored service project.
This year, SOAR and SROW will be partnering with Foothills Alliance, an organization focused on providing support for survivors of child abuse and sexual assault. Foothills Alliance is a nonprofit agency whose mission is to provide prevention initiatives and crisis intervention for abuse victims.

Student Organization Competition
With the help of The Office of Student Activities and the Wings Incentive Program, we are excited to host a competition between registered student organizations to earn the most points by donating items from the list above. Each item on the list has a point-value associated with it and we will use these point values to award Wings Incentive Points to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place student organization based on total competition points as well as organizations reaching 2000 competition points.
The Wings Incentive Program points will be awarded as follows:
First Place: 5 points | Second Place: 4 points | Third Place: 2 points
Any organization that meets the 2000 point baseline: 1 point
Student Organizations who participate are encouraged to gather supplies and bring all items to a large drop off event on Friday, March 7, 2014 from 4-6 PM at Sweetheart Circle. UPB will be showing a double feature outdoor movie and all students are invited to drop off their service items and stay for the movies starting at 6:00.
Individuals are encouraged to drop their donation items in collection boxes located in the Russell Union, the Office of Student Leadership & Civic Engagement, and Lewis Hall (on Sweetheart Circle). We are collecting items through Friday, March 7, 2014.
